Since 2017, Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) has hosted its Accelerator program, aimed at engaging with emerging Ag-Tech startups that could drive further innovation across the dairy value chain.

Students from across the nation contended for top honors in judging contests hosted by the American Royal Association this past fall. The competitions brought together over 550 high school and collegiate students from more than 25 states. Contestants are scored and ranked on their critical thinking skills, evaluations, and ability to defend their decision.

On Friday, February 9 during a special event, Wayside Waifs will receive a $10,000 grant, a million pet meals, and 1,000 doses of NexGard® PLUS (afoxolaner, moxidectin, and pyrantel chewable tablets) to celebrate Shelter Bowl IX. The event will also feature a “pet sport court” with pet football toys for adoptable and adorable dogs to play and run in.

The animal agtech ecosystem will come together for pivotal conversations, essential market intelligence and strategic business opportunities.

The race for talent is nothing new. Competition for talent has escalated, as workers across industries increasingly assess opportunities based on higher pay, greater flexibility in when and where they work, and better company culture.

The impending veterinary shortage necessitates curriculum changes in response to emerging trends and demands. With new veterinary programs seeking accreditation, there is a potential 33% increase in AVMA-accredited schools. Incorporating telehealth and addressing changing pet ownership patterns are paramount. Training students on telemedicine and feline behaviors, and evaluating curriculum allocation, are crucial for equipping graduates to meet evolving industry needs. Comprehensive curriculum changes are needed to effectively combat the veterinary shortage.
