Gold Sponsor-Transparent Background-02Biomin America is a leading developer and marketer of feed additive solutions in the poultry, swine, and ruminant markets. Located right here in the Animal Health Corridor (headquartered in Overland Park, KS) Biomin’s commitment lies with addressing a multitude of nutrition and health challenges, specializing in the areas of mycotoxin risk management and gut health performance. Their sophisticated technologies deliver natural solutions to producers across North America.

Internationally known for its work in mycotoxin deactivation, Biomin continues to investigate strategies to protect operations and profits. Through the Biomin PROcheck mycotoxin survey, the world’s longest running and most comprehensive mycotoxin data set is maintained. Each month, customers collect feed samples from their operations and submit for lab analysis of mycotoxin incidence levels. The results, including trends, co-occurrence, prevalence levels, and more, are summarized and shared publicly on the Biomin web site (www.Biomin.net/us/survey). Stakeholders, across the livestock industry, can read, download, and print the most up-to-date results and be advised of any risk to their animals on-farm.

Well-known to our market is rapid mergers, consolidations, and acquisitions – and Biomin is no stranger to this movement. Biomin was recently acquired by global leader, DSM. The acquisition of Biomin strengthens DSM’s expertise and reputation as a leading provider of animal health and nutrition solutions with emphasis in sustainability, farm productivity, and emissions reduction. Making animal farming more sustainable from both an ecological and economical perspective, will be at the center of integration activities.

Current discussions with leaders of DSM and Biomin are grounded in defining what complimentary portfolio solutions can be offered to provide complete solutions. Keeping simplicity in mind, the intent will be to continue to accelerate innovation, create partnerships, and bring value to the customer. “The integration of two capable market teams is exciting. This acquisition gives us the opportunity to tailor our approach and determine how best we can service customers”, remarked Melissa Kirchner, Marketing Director at Biomin. “The customer experience is, and will continue to be, at the heart of everything we do. Early conversations have already yielded some synergistic benefits.”

Biomin is a longtime supporter of the Animal Health Corridor and its vision. This year, Simon Walley, President of Biomin America, is leading the AHC Advisory Team and has been an active participant on the board since Biomin relocated their office to Kansas City in 2017. In the fall, Biomin will be supporting the Corridor’s annual Animal Health Summit and will continue to seek opportunities to promote the growth and success of the Corridor, alongside other strategic partner businesses.
