Agreement Study Will Measure Productivity of Land Regeneration Using Advanced Satellite Technology
OVERLAND PARK, Kansas - CERES TAG Inc., the global leader in satellite herd management technology, has signed a “Technology Testing and Use Agreement” with Noble Research Institute. This first-of-its-kind research study will quantify how the CERES TAG, satellite-enabled smart tag will improve regenerative grazing practices.

The partnership brings together Noble’s legacy in land stewardship with CERES TAG’s industry-leading satellite-based technology. These advanced devices that communicate directly with satellites do not require on-ground infrastructure, offering producers an uninterrupted plug-and-play solution to improving their herd management practices. The producer receives continuous detailed data on pasture feed intake which provides insights into feed conversion efficiency. This helps producers understand the impact of each animal on land health and productivity.
“Optimizing grazing lands by promoting land stewardship through management are the foundations of a strong ranching community,” said Hugh Aljoe, Director of Ranches, Outreach & Partnerships at Noble Research Institute. “Utilizing technologies such as CERES TAG is one way that Noble will continue to monitor research projects for the positive impact regenerative management has on soil health, grazing animal production and the financial security of America’s farm and ranch families.”
This collaboration is underpinned by Noble’s vision to guide farmers and ranchers in applying regenerative principles that yield healthier soil, more productive grazing land and business success. This vision reinforces that every acre matters. By using CERES TAG’s technology on Noble’s working ranch lands, this effort will showcase real-world use-cases using the technology of CERES TAG.
“Our business is all about improving productivity by providing the information to make the right decisions at the right time,” said David Smith Founder and CEO of CERES TAG. “You can’t manage what you don’t measure so we couldn’t be more delighted to be working with the gold-standard in farm and ranch management to further validate the benefits of our technology.”
NOBLE will have an unlimited ability to present all data, methods and/or results, and to incorporate these into publications and educational offerings to agricultural producers.
“The ability to work with innovative companies and incorporate technology is core to the continuous improvement of regenerative ranching,” added Aljoe. “The opportunity to collaborate with CERES TAG is a great example of how progressive and sophisticated the American ranching industry is becoming.”
Smith concluded, “We are excited to bring this first-in-the-world technology to the U.S. and are confident that its insights and analytics will help American producers become more productive and profitable, while enhancing livestock traceability, welfare, and long-term sustainability.”
