St Joseph, Missouri-based firm AgriLabs has appointed a new technical service manager.

AgriLabs has hired Dr Robert Rust to take on the role. Dr Rust will be responsible for providing technical support to the company's customers, in addition to its sales and marketing teams.

Specifically, Dr Rust's duties will entail providing technical support for AgriLabs products, providing technical input for new and existing programs, monitoring clinical field studies, and following up with producers on adverse reactions and technical inquiries.

He will also focus on growing business relationships within key groups – such as veterinary practitioners, consultants, producers and distributors – in the large animal business segment.

Dr Rust was most recently the owner of and veterinarian at Green Valley Veterinary Services in Wamego, Kansas.

Sean O'Hare, executive vice president of AgriLabs, said: "Dr Rust is a great fit for AgriLabs; he brings a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge to this role. Not only has he provided solutions for our customers in the animal health industry, he has had experience with cutting-edge research at Kansas State University and shares our common passion for innovation."

AgriLabs recently made its autogenous vaccines available to the US swine market, in a bid to address an unmet need in the sector. The firm claims the vaccines feature superior syringeability, as well as a 21-day withdrawal period – the lowest allowed for food-producing animals.

According to AgriLabs, its distribution network represents over 90% of all food animal products sold in the US.
